Mary Sula Bishop Center for Translational Neuroscience
Dr. Bishop is pleased to announce the formation of the Mary Sula Bishop Center for Translational Neuroscience. The mission of the Center is to translate the best in pre-clinical neuroscience into the best in clinical psychiatry. To this end, the Center will be engaging with pre-clinical investigators to bring their findings into the clinical realm.
At the present time, the Center will function as the Research and Development service line within the practice of Dr. Bishop.
We have several projects already underway. These include:
1. VNS as a treatment for treatment resistant depression. This is a large multi-site trial sponsored by Liva Nova and CMS.
2. Biomarkers for the prediction of antidepressant response. This is a study of the use of High Density EEG and machine learning coupled with other variables to predict antidepressant response. This is in cooperation with Alto Neuroscience.
3. Beta testing of the Clinical Version of the MHQ in conjunction with Sapien labs. 4. Over the summer we will be rolling out the ambulatory monitoring of psychiatric variables using wearables and iphone apps.
For more information on these studies, please visit msbneuroscience.org
Companies interested in working with the Center to bring their project into clinical use or patients wishing to participate in any of the clinical trials please contact us.
